Anne Lawther
AMGA Single Pitch Instructor

Instructor
Anne is passionate about climbing and about helping young people discover their own strength, confidence, and sense of adventure on the wall. With two grown kids of her own, she understands how to connect with teens — balancing fun, challenge, and safety in every session.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Anne has climbed around the world — from Patagonia and Thailand to France, Spain, and Cuba — but Squamish will always be her favorite place to climb and teach.
With over 10 years of experience as a climbing instructor, Anne creates a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning new techniques, and pushing their limits. She knows that everyone learns differently and takes pride in helping teens understand not just how to climb, but why movement and problem-solving on the wall can be so rewarding.
Anne’s focus is on joy and progress rather than grades or ego. She loves seeing young climbers build confidence, teamwork, and independence as they take on new challenges.
When she’s not climbing, Anne enjoys board games with friends, salsa dancing, backcountry skiing, music, cooking, and her newest pursuit — kite surfing.
