Keith and Alice from Ontario

A boulder half-day and a multi-pitch half-day in Squamish.

Keith Hassen and his daughter Alice came from Ontario to climb in Squamish. They booked two half-days with Jesse: a guided bouldering half-day and a multi-pitch guiding half-day. After those days they rented a crash pad.

Grand Wall Boulders

The first day was at the Grand Wall Boulders. They had an excellent time getting to know each other. Alice is passionate about climbing and plans to start her own climbing gym someday. She climbed many of the classic boulders and sent Drone V4.

Star Chek

The next day was multi-pitch at Star Chek. They got a bonus pitch by being lowered into the final pitch of Indra's Net. The forecast called for rain. Jesse knew the precipitation would be minimal and that it would still be safe to climb.

What Keith wrote

My daughter and I booked two half-days with Squamish Climbing Academy, one bouldering and one multi-pitch, with Jesse as our guide for both. It was the highlight of our trip.

Jesse was patient and encouraging with my kid while keeping the climbing fun and interesting for both of us. He knows the Squamish area inside and out and tuned our experience to us: he shaped the days around our schedule, watched the weather radar to find the right windows to climb, and picked spots and routes that matched our style and ability. On the multi-pitch day he had us feeling safe and confident the whole way up.

My daughter put it best: "Jesse was so helpful for beta ideas and good tricks to use on the wall. He's an amazing person, very kind, and really knowledgeable about where to go."

If you're visiting Squamish, especially with kids, book with Jesse! We hope to be back.
